Rector

Fr. Silouan Cohen

Priest-in-Charge

Father Silouan Cohen was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a graduate of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, New York, where he was formed in the tradition of the Orthodox Church in America.

Prior to his assignment to St. Matthew, Fr. Silouan served at Holy Nativity Orthodox Church in Shreveport and at St. Paul Mission in Denison, Texas. He was assigned to St. Matthew the Apostle Mission in August 2025.

Fr. Silouan is married to Matushka Katie, and they have four children. He is deeply committed to the growth of the mission and to welcoming all who seek the ancient Christian faith into the life of the parish.

Deacon John McFarland

Deacon

Deacon John McFarland serves St. Matthew the Apostle Mission in Baton Rouge. He is a faithful servant of the parish, assisting in the liturgical life of the community and in its ministry to the faithful.
